BIRTHDAY CARD FOR MY MUM - MADE TO SURPRISE SHUTTER BLIND DIE SET

 Hi Everyone!

Yes, I am back again today! Just trying to catch my blog up with my recent makes over the last couple of weeks.

This time I am sharing a card I made for my mum for her birthday.  This year she celebrates her 75th birthday and I wanted to make her something a little special.

I had a hard time trying to think of what to make for her and I really did leave this card to the absolute last minute to make. I made it the day after her birthday as we were seeing her that night for dinner out.

I remembered I had 2 new die sets in my stash which I had not used yet. The first one being Spellbinders Be Bold Blooms die set and the other being the Made To Surprise 6x6' Shutter Blind die set so I decided to combine both to make mum's card.

I am so happy with how the card turned out - it did take me quite a few hours to make - not so much the mechanism of the card but fiddling and fluffing around cutting the flowers and figuring out how to place them until I was happy with it.  But I did enjoy the process and the time went quite quickly.

I left the shutters blank with the flowers raised around the edges and then the shutters reveal the sentiment.

And I included a '75' as a last minute thought seeing that it really is a milestone birthday.

I loved the colours I used and you can see the truer colour in the video - it's a lovely aqua and I used silver mirror board for some highlight.  The embossing folder I used to add a basket texture is from We R Memory Keepers.

Here are a couple of pics

here is a video showing the card in action - Sam from Made to Surprise/Mixed Up Craft really did a lovely job designing this die set as the sliding mechanism does not catch anywhere which makes the card easy for the recipient to use. I really enjoy making interactive cards. They are so much fun and the mechanisms are always amazing and the sense of accomplishment once you have the card finished and everything works as it should is quite satisfying.

HOUSE TISSUE BOX COVER - GINGERBREAD HOUSE STYLE

 Hi Everyone!

Welcome back and thanks for stopping by again today!

This time I am sharing a tissue box cover designed by Nicole Silhouette. This is a great cover to decorate in any style that you like and it covers the square tissue boxes really nicely and the tissues dispense out of the chimney which is so cute.

For my tissue box I decided to decorate it in a 'Gingerbread House' style because Christmas is coming up and I thought it would be a cute idea.

This house tissue box cover is available both as a die cutting set and as a digital cutting file.

The die cutting set is available from the KSCraft Lovers store on Ali Express and can be found here

The digital cutting file can be found in Nicole's Etsy store called Nicolespapercrafts here

I have also done the assembly tutorial on my YouTube channel and you can watch that here.

Here is a pic of my completed 'Gingerbread House' style house tissue box cover

and here is a little video showing 360 degree view

this little house tissue box cover is so fun to make and not difficult.
It can be decorated in so many different ways to suit many decor themes.
Thank you for stopping by again today and until next time - it's bye for now!

CAROUSEL WITH STORAGE UNDERNEATH

 Hi everyone!

Today I am sharing a carousel with storage underneath.

I love the way this has turned out. The die set is Big Top Carousel from Tonic Studios.  I did use a different horse for my carousel from another die set I have just for something different.

I used silver mirror board to give an authentic 'mirror' look to the area behind the horses and I used pastel colours and a simple dot embossed background for the decorative panels. And of course I have decorated with some flowers.  I like the way my carousel looks decorated clean and simply.

This die set does come with many different decorative panel options and I really could not make up my mind what I wanted to do and usually when this happens I just go for simple.  I may make another one with different decorative panels.  The top carousel can be made separately and the bottom storage section can be made separately also so that you can make one or the other or both depending on what you want which I think is great to be able to have those options.

Here are pics of my carousel and I have also included a video of it on my motorised turntable so you can see it go round and round like a 'real' carousel.

here is the video

I will make the bottom storage part of this carousel on it's own at some point
but probably not now until next year.

That is it from me for now - until next time it's bye for now!
