ENAMEL PIN COLLECTION - CRAFTY THEMED PINS

Hello everyone!

Thanks for stopping by!

Today I'd like to share with you my enamel pin collection.

To begin with I only had a couple of pins and had them for a couple of years and I always thought I'd like to get more.  So, the last year or so I have been looking for and buying pins as I came across them.

I mainly look for the 'crafty' themed ones as obviously being a crafter they are the pins that appeal to me. I don't tend to go for any pins which are sewing, knitting, crochet related as obviously that's not my thing.

I have found a few crafty pins which are 'tea' related ie 'craft-tea' and the associated play on those words but I don't drink tea so I don't think those pins are for me - I try to keep things real, usually.

Most of the pins I have collected I have tracked down on Etsy from various sellers.

The first pin I got in my collection was from Jubbly Umph - it was a cute 'scissors' pin with a banner which said 'Crafty Girl Gang'.  As soon as I saw it I knew I had to have it and that started my quest to look for more and then start a collection.

Jubbly Umph are an Australian pin seller and I did buy a few of her 'craft' themed pins. Some of what she had are retired now and I missed out but I did get most of what I wanted from her. Jubbly Umph also have keychains, socks, patches and earrings.  I did buy a pair of socks which say 'you crafty bitch' on them and  I have them hanging in my craft room. They make me smile.

The other company I bought a few pins from is The Gray Muse.  This pin creator has some awesome craft related pins.  The Gray Muse had some interactive pins and I managed to get the die cutting machine pin which I believe is now retired, but I missed out on the paper trimmer interactive pin.  I hope she re-releases it soon as I would love to have that one in my collection.  The Gray Muse also have some really lovely floral pins as well as a great range of stickers.

Some other sellers I purchased pins from on Etsy are Happy Town Studio, Punky Pins, Something About Sept, Happily Rudderless, Towne9, Ziziandme, onlyhappythings.  There are probably some more but I have lost track.

I have also pins from Altenew, Simon Says Stamp and Doodlebug.

In my pin collection currently I have 34 pins and I will keep looking for more.

My friend Nicole Silhouette in the Netherlands is currently looking to sell some crafty themed pins and has designed some already and I hope they get produced for her soon as I will for sure be buying her pins.

Here is a picture of my collection.  I actually had a few pins come in the day after I took this picture so I will include separate pics of those underneath. And the very last picture is the whole collection but the glare from the glass makes it difficult to see them properly but you get the idea - I should have taken the glass out as I did for the first picture but I already had taken the frame apart so many times in that couple of days and I was done - lol.

I will more than likely add to this collection as new pins are designed and I track them down and with the display idea I have here I will be able to reconfigure and add and change around as my collection continues to grow.

That's it from me for today - thanks again for stopping by and until next time - it's bye for now!

3D PHONOGRAPH/GRAMOPHONE - MADE ON RETREAT

 Hi Everyone!

Thanks for stopping by!

Today I am sharing a 3D project I made whilst on a craft retreat last weekend.

I do have to admit that I did have the pieces already cut out and put aside for a a couple of months now. I was waiting to put this project together away on a retreat. I just thought it would keep me occupied for a considerable amount of time - which it certainly did.

I was inspired by the one Tara Brown from Tara's Craft Studio has on her blog and I knew when I saw it I had to make one in my own style.

I do love way Tara decorates her 3D projects but as you know I like to make my paper craft projects look realistic in the way I decorate them.  I wanted my gramophone to be brown like timber and have the inside of the horn be gold and shiny so it would look like a 'new/old' gramophone - if that makes sense?

Tara has an entry on her blog here where you can see her beautiful gramophone and she has detailed instructions in this entry on how to make the gramophone including link to a WPC file and a manual template for cutting out the horn which is called a 'Morning Glory Amplifier'.  The WPC file and the manual template also include the pieces for the needle arm and the 'equaliser' and these parts are cut from card stock.

The bottom 'box' part of the gramophone which includes a drawer is made from 1/8 inch grey board and the finished project is very sturdy indeed.

I added feet I purchased from Ali Express to the bottom of the gramophone and that adds to the vintage look.

As always I love decorating with flowers and I finished off my gramophone with flower decoration.

I absolutely love the way my gramophone/phonograph turned out!

Here are some pics

Thanks for looking! I hope you love my gramophone as much as I do!
Until next time - it's bye for now!

SENDING BIG HUGS - LAWN FAWN - PLATFORM POP UP

 Hi everyone!

Thanks for stopping by!

Today I am sharing a card I made a few weeks back but I had forgotten about posting it here.

This card uses Lawn Fawn's Platform Pop Up die set and also their big sentiment 'Sending Big Hugs'.

I wanted to incorporate them both into a pop up.

One thing I would do differently when I make this card again would be not to make the sentiment 4 layers thick - this was a mistake.  Initially, I thought it would give the sentiment additional strength for it to able to stand up nice and strong but all it did was make it fall forward which was disappointing.  But, you know what they say - you learn by your mistakes.

This is definitely a card I would make again but not layer up the sentiment.  I love the colours I used - gave me 'Lawn Fawn' vibes for sure.

I only took a video of this card so I will insert a screen shot and post video below.

Thanks for looking and until next time it's bye for now!

3D LAYERED PAPER CUT SEA THEMED MANDALA - DESIGN BUNDLES

Hi Everyone!

Thanks again for stopping by today!

This time I am sharing a 3D paper cut.

These have been catching my eye over the last few weeks on various web sites/Facebook pages etc. And I have been wanting to make one but a lot of what I have been seeing haven't really been my style. They are lovely but just not in the style I would like - that is - until I saw this one.  And as soon as I saw it I knew I had to make it and I absolutely love how it turned out.

This is a digital cutting file available in different formats depending on what cutting machine you have which is awesome.

The file comes with a PDF of instructions on how to put together etc.

Here is the link to the one I purchased - you do have to sign up to be a member of Design Bundles but membership is free and there is a lot of awesome stuff available - well worth being a member.

I hope to find more of these in my style as they are fun to make and put together - not complicated at all - your cutting machine does all the work for you.

Here is the pic of the one I made

Thanks for looking and until next time it's bye for now!

CRAFT ROOM DECOR - LED NEON LIGHT UP SIGN

Hi everyone!

Thanks for stopping by yet again today!

Now, I am sharing a really cool piece of craft room decor I purchased recently.

It's a LED NEON light up sign and I got it made with my YouTube/blog name 'By Farr Studio'.

The story behind me getting this sign started with a conversation I had with Nicole Silhouette where she was telling me she had ordered one for herself and asked me if it would be something I would like to have and OF COURSE it is - most definitely!

So I ordered one and I absolutely love it so much.

I did a purchase share on my YouTube channel where I show the sign lit up and dimming the brightness. All the details regarding the purchase are in the description box of the video and you can find that here

This is a lovely addition to my craft room.  I have not put it up yet as I have been busy with work and life etc but I hope to get that done soon.

Here is a pic of the light lit up

And for a video of it you can check out the link above to my YouTube channel.

FAN VASE CARD - LISTA TSURAYYA

 Hi Everyone!

Thanks for stopping by again today.

This time I am sharing a fan vase card I found on YouTube.  I love the look of this card as it also can be functional to hold a bottle of wine or even a pot plant.

The tutorial I followed is on a YouTube channel of a creator by the name of Lista Tsurayya.  It's a fairly simple tutorial to follow and an easy project to make.

The tutorial can be found here

I kept the decoration on mine fairly clean and simple but these could be made in any colours with many different decoration styles used.  If you were confident enough you could also make this smaller or larger - it would not be hard to figure out the resizing.

This project is another measure and cut by hand project but not complicated at all.

I will probably make more of these - probably around Christmas time I would think.

Here is my one

And of course I did a video giving a 360 degree view of it

I absolutely love the way these look!

STEP UP BOX WITH SLIDING DRAWERS - INTATWYNE DESIGNS

Hi Everyone!

Thank you for stopping by!

Today I am sharing another make from mid July - a step up box with sliding drawers.

I absolutely love the look of this project and in particular I like the sliding drawer aspect and I love how it rolls up and you can pop a lid on it.

For this project I followed the tutorial by Angelina on her Youtube channel Intatwyn Designs and you can find that tutorial here

Again, as per last post I did not take actual pictures of the finished project as I took a little video but I did take a couple of screen shots from the video as shown below

The decorative paper I used for this project is from my stash and I'm unsure where it's from - I feel like it's from Uniquely Creative's Ocean Breeze collection but I can't be sure of that.

To assist with the closure of the wraparound of the project I used magnets and it finishes it off perfectly.

And here is the video I took showing the project completely

I love the way this turned out and I'd love a die set or a digital cutting file to make this project as this was hand measured and hand cut - maybe something for me to think about designing perhaps.

Thanks very much for looking and until next time - it's bye for now!
