BABY BOTTLE DESIGNED BY NICOLE SILHOUETTE and A MATCHING SHUTTER CARD USING DIE SET FROM SPELLBINDERS

 Hi everyone!

Thanks for stopping by again today!

Trying my best to update my blog as much as I can!

I am still busy with my crafting and very busy with the assembly tutorials that I do for Nicole Silhouette on YouTube.

I do enjoy doing assembly tutorials for Nicole as this really gives my crafting a purpose - I have a reason to craft and I absolutely love putting together 3D projects made from paper. Also, the crafters who buy her digital cutting files and the cutting dies from Ali Express need the tutorials I do to be able to put the projects together. So it works both ways.

I have been doing 3D paper craft projects now for many years and I just love it.  There is something very satisfying for me cutting the pieces and then putting the projects together and admiring the end result - I guess it's the sense of accomplishment.

That being said, I also enjoy Nicole's projects.  I have got very used to her design style and this baby bottle is no exception. It went together with no issues at all and the assembly tutorial for it is on my YouTube channel.

I have made this baby bottle for a crafty friend of mine (and she won't mind me mentioning her name here) Linda.  Her daughter had a baby girl in early January and I wanted to make the baby bottle to gift some baby clothes in.

I also made a shutter card to match the baby bottle using the Garden Shutters Butterfly Bliss die set from Spellbinders and following a tutorial from Becca Feeken of Amazing Paper Grace and I love the way it turned out as well.

Here is the link to the assembly tutorial on my YouTube channel https://youtu.be/qm7CPGYxcOI

Here are some pics of the baby bottle

and some pics of the matching shutter card
The die set for the shutter card is the Garden Shutters Butterfly Bliss die designed
by Becca Feeken of Amazing Paper Grace and available from Spellbinders

I love how these turned out and I can't wait to give them to my friend to pass on to her daughter.

Thanks for looking and until next time - it's bye for now!

CRAZY 4 CHALLENGES - C4C538 - LACE CARD

Hi Everyone!

Thanks for stopping by!

This week over with the Crazy 4 Challenges design team the challenge is:

6th June - C4C538: The month of June derives it name from Juno, the Roman Goddess of marriage. It was thought that couples who married in June would be blessed with prosperity and happiness. Brides seem to have lace on their dress so please create a card with Lace … either Real or Faux.

For this challenge I was inspired by a card made by Becca Feeken over at Amazing Paper Grace and you can see that card here.

The die I used is from Spellbinders and is called the Card Creator Emmeline Treillage Etched Die Venise Lace by Becca Feeken.  I love this die - it's so pretty and delicate.  I thought it would fit well with this week's challenge.

The flowers I used on this card are from Kaisercraft as are the gems and the Sentiment is from Taylored Expressions.

The rectangle die I used is from My Favourite Things.

It is a see through card and would be perfect for a wedding or anniversary card but I wanted my card to have a different feel to it and you could send this card for a birthday or just to let someone special know that you are thinking of them.

My card is similar to Becca's but with my own spin on it. I love the way my card turned out.

Thanks for looking and until next week - it's bye for now!

CRAZY 4 CHALLENGES - C4C526 - WHITE ON WHITE CARD

Hi Everyone!

Thanks for stopping by today!

This week over with the Crazy 4 Challenges the theme is:

14th March - C4C526: According to the Days of the Year web site, today is White Day. Apparently in countries where Valentine's Day is observed by women giving chocolate to those they love. White Day is the day they get the return on that investment. For our challenge this week, let's create a white on white card.

I have never made a 'white on white' card before so this was new to me and I guess it would be something most people would associate using for a wedding card or a sympathy card but I have a combined 90th and 60th birthday celebration coming up next week so I decided to use this concept for the 90th birthday card.

I am very happy with with the way my card turned out.  The flower die I used is one designed by Nicole Silhouette, the leaf die is from Kaisercraft, the number die and banner die are dies that I have in my stash and I'm not sure of where they are from.  I did get a lot dies a while back second hand.

The background die I used is from Spellbinders Shapeabilities dies by Becca Feeken Venise Lace - Emmeline Treillage.  And this is a lovely background die which I like to use when I can.

I have a 90th birthday to go to next weekend so this was my chance to make a card for the recipient.

I think the trick with white on white cards is to use layers, add dimension and texture and also some shimmer which is what I used for this card and I am very happy with how it ended up looking.

The white pearls were a nice touch too tying it altogether.

Here is my card -

CLOCK MADE FROM SPELLINDERS 3D VINGNETTE GRAND CABINET DIE SET

I accidentally stumbled across the Spellbinders Shapeabilities 3D Vingnette die sets and I have to say I was drawn to them immediately.  So beautiful. The designer Becca Feeken from Amazing Paper Grace has done a wonderful job designing these.  I purchased the Grand Cabinet and the Grand Dome die set and couldnt wait to have a play with them.
I wanted to do the Grand Cabinet first but once I had cut the pieces out and put them together I was a little stuck on what to do next and I needed a few days to ponder on how I was going to decorate it. So Grand Cabinet sat like this in my craft room whilst I went away for the weekend and had a chance to think about what I was going to do.

I decided to have a little look on Pinterest and also on Instagram to get some inspiration and what attracted my attention was something that was put together by an Instagram account called keepsakesbymelissa.  Melissa Bove had created a clock using the Grand Dome and seeing what she had done had reminded me of the clocks I had made in 2011 and I then immediately knew what I was putting into my Grand Cabinet - a clock.
To see other clocks I have made here and here and here and here and here - I have had a lot of fun with clocks.
Took me a little while to get going with this one as it had been 7 years since making clocks and I had to find my clock movements in my stash.  The other time consuming part was gluing all those half back pearls on - individually.  But once I had those glued on the rest of the clock came together quite quickly.
Initially, it fell backwards due to the weight of the clock movement device but once I had the pearls glued on and the flowers made and glued on the balance of weight is quite good and it is not tipsy at all.  I have yet to put a battery into it which will add more weight but I think it should be fine.
The flowers and leaves I used unbranded dies and I inked the edges with Distress Oxide inkpad 'Frayed Burlap'.
Cards made with these die sets are designed to fold flat to go in an envelope for postage but obviously this clock wont fold flat and will be a 3D item for the recipient given in person in a gift box.
I am so very happy with how this turned out.  I have someone in mind to give it to which will be a total surprise for them.
