CRAZY 4 CHALLENGES - C4C496 - SANDCASTLE DAY

Hello Everyone!

Thanks for stopping by!

This week over with the Crazy 4 Challenges team our hostess is Frances Byrne from Stamp Owl's Studio and our guest designer is Vicki Garrett from Summerthyme Studio.  I am sure we are in for some great cards!

The theme this week is:

3rd August - C4C496: Apparently today is Sandcastle Day, so let's include sandcastles on our card this week … if you don't have sandcastles, sand or anything beach related will do.

Now, I had already done a sandcastle pop up card a few weeks back for a 'sand' theme so I wanted to come up with a different card this week and I did not want to use the same die set.

I have not used my Silhouette Cameo for a few weeks so I decided to have a look in the Silhouette Design Store and see if anything caught my eye - I was not disappointed.

I came across a great box card svg cutting file designed by Lori Whitlock in the shape of a Sandcastle and so I decided to use that. The link to this file in the Silhouette Design store is here

I enlarged the pieces as big as they would fit on my silhouette mat and I am very happy with the size that this box card finished up. It is 4 3/4' wide by about 5' tall to the top of the tallest flag.
The default size that it would come into Silhouette Studio would be smaller than that.

I had some fun decorating my sandcastle box card with assorted pearl bling and also some wooden embellishments from Kaisercraft.

I love how my sandcastle box card turned out and it folds down flat for postage!

Here is my Sandcastle Box Card to celebrate Sandcastle Day!

Thanks for looking!  Have a great day and until next time it's bye for now!

CRAZY FOR CHALLENGES C4C473 - COFFEE THEMED CARD

Hi Guys!

Welcome back to my blog.

This week for the Crazy 4 Challenges the theme is:

March is Caffeine Awareness Month, so for our challenge this week create a Coffee themed card. If you don't have any coffee stamps, dies or papers and hot beverage will do.

So I decided to use my new purchase of Karen Burniston's Rockin Rectangle Pop Up die set.
This die set is fast becoming my favourite 'interactive' die set. I just love the pop out 'rockin rectangle' and the die set is generic so you can make cards for anyone for anything.

The little stamp and die set I used was from on a magazine that I purchased and the magazine was Simply Cards and Papercraft issue 177.  The magazine is from the UK.

The coffee beans I used were a cutting file I purchased from the Silhouette Design Studio and I cut them out with my cameo.

Hello and Lets Do Coffee were also cut on my cameo using a font I purchased also from Silhouette Design Store called Hello Friend Brush Script Font.

I used Tonic Nuvo Glaze over the coffee beans to make them look more realistic and also over the words to make them stand out a bit more.

I have done a video putting this card together here and I followed Karen Burniston's tutorial on her youtube channel here whilst I was making it - her tutorials are so easy to follow.

Here are some pics of the card.

I had a lot of fun making this card and the trouble with making these cards for these challenges is that I dont want to part with any of the cards so I imagine by the end of the year I will have quite a lot of cards in my stash!

Bye for now guys and have a great week!

CRAZY FOR CHALLENGES C4C469 - GROUND HOG (CRITTER) DAY!

Hi Guys!

Thanks for stopping by!

This week the crazies challenge over at Crazy 4 Challenges is:

Today is Ground Hog Day! If you don’t have an image of a ground hog then put any other ground critter on your card this week!

So I decided to go with a ground critter and I chose a very cute fox.  This fox is a cutting file I purchased from the Silhouette Design store and I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut her out.

I used the pop up mechanism from Karen Burniston's die set 'Katherine Pop Up' to make the pop up portion of the card.

Kraft colour card stock for my card base and another darker brown card that I embossed a tree grain on with an embossing folder.

The leafy frame die is from Simon Says Stamp which added a nice touch to the front and inside of the card.

The hello die I used is from Essentials by Ellen in the Letterboard cursive script set. The alphabet die set was a freebie die on a craft magazine.

I used Paper Rose Studio Stitched Circle die set and Stitched Rectangle die set.

I also, did a video putting this card together here

Here are some pics as well.

Thanks for looking guys and see you next time!

BOOKFOLDING - UNICORN THEMED

Hi guys!

Thanks for stopping by today.  I hope you all had a great Christmas.

Today I am sharing a bookfolding project that I completed a couple of weeks prior to Christmas for a lady who ordered from me.

I do really enjoy bookfolding projects as they are another thing that gives me a great sense of accomplishment once completed.

The order for this book was for a name (Sophie) and to incorporate unicorns into it.  I did have to have a big think about how I was going to accomplish this and I have to say I am pretty happy with what I came up with using a cutting file from the Silhouette Design Store.

Please enjoy the pictures and I do plan to have many more cards and projects for you to look at and videos on my youtube channel in 2019.

Happy New Year to you all and see you in 2019!
