CRAZY 4 CHALLENGES - C4C557 - SKETCH WEEK

 Hi Everyone!

Thanks for stopping by!

This week over with the Crazy 4 Challenges design team it's the 3rd Saturday of the month meaning it's Sketch week and this week's sketch is this one:

And our challenge is to make a circle card.

This in itself was a challenge to me as I would not normally make a circle card as they are hard to display without rolling around.  But, I do know there are things we can do now as crafters so that doesn't happen.

This just doesn't happen to be a style of card I would normally make.

I turned to Pinterest for some inspiration here and I could have easily made a circle easel card but I wanted to make something else and I wasn't quite sure what.

Until ...... I came across this very cute card by Cathy Weber aka Empty Nest Crafter . (by clicking on the link takes you straight to the card) - It  is always the right thing to give credit to where you get inspiration from and I am always happy to do so.

I could see that the scalloped edge of this card would assist with the card standing up without rolling and I loved the look of it and it fit well with the sketch this week with the exception of the banner. I already had decided I would not put a banner on my card.

I did not make my card very much different from Cathy's but I did add a few different things in my style.

I did have one stuff up with my card and that was with the positioning of the scallops on the bottom - they were not quite right and my card still rolled a little making it crooked when placed for display and that was totally my fault for not paying attention whilst I was assembling.  So I had to trim the bottom edge scallop a tiny bit so my card would stand up without rolling.  There's always a work around and I guess I am happy with this outcome as I did not want to remake the card from scratch and hopefully it's not too noticeable.  The sentiment I printed myself.

Here is my card and I am happy with how it turned out! Super cute!

Thanks for looking and until next week - it's bye for now!

CRAZY 4 CHALLENGES - C4C548 - SKETCH WEEK

Hi Everyone!

Thanks for stopping by!

This week it's my third week hosting the design team challenges over with the Crazy 4 Challenges team and I have set the following sketch challenge:

August 15th – C4C548: Sketch

Image may contain: phone, text that says "C4C548"

I had a lot of fun creating this sketch I kept within my style of clean and simple.

I love the card I made for the challenge this week. I used paper and ephemera from Kaisercraft's Little Treasures collection and I made a gorgeous gender neutral baby card.
I have no one in particular to give this card to but I still love how it turned out and it will come in use at some stage I am sure.

Here is my sketch card for this week:

until next week - it's bye for now!

CRAZY 4 CHALLENGES - C4C544 - SKETCH WEEK

Hi Everyone!

Thanks for stopping by!

This week over with the Crazy 4 Challenges it is Sketch Week!

18th July - C4C544: Sketch Challenge

Our sketch to work with this week is:

Image may contain: text that says "C4C544"

I enjoyed this sketch and making this card very much.
I used an oval doily die from a nesting set that I have, also the hello die is one from my stash as is the banner die.
The stamped sentiment is from Taylored Expressions Sentiment Strips.
The paper for the background and the flower emphemera and sparkly gems are from Kaisercraft's Little Treasures collection.
Such a cute collection made obviously for gender neutral baby projects but I think it worked well for my card today too.

Here is my card:

CRAZY 4 CHALLENGES - C4C535 - SKETCH WEEK

Hi Everyone!

Thanks for stopping by!

This week over with the Crazy 4 Challenges design week it's the third Saturday of the month meaning it's Sketch week.

Here is this week's sketch:

Image may contain: possible text that says 'C4C535'

I like to use my papers and ephemera packs that I have on hand from Kaisercraft for the sketches.  It seems to make it easier for me and this week was no exception and I decided to use Kaisercraft's new collection 'Amethyst'.  I love purple - it's my favourite colour and I really like this collection.

I am pretty happy with how my card came out.

So without further ado here is my card for this week's challenge.

Until next week - it's bye for now!
Stay safe and happy crafting!

CRAZY 4 CHALLENGES - C4C531 - SKETCH WEEK

Hi Everyone!

Thanks for stopping by!

This week over with the Crazy 4 Challenges design team it is the third Saturday of the month meaning it's Sketch week.

At the moment I am trying to use up what I have in my stash so the papers I have used today will be familiar to most of you as I work through what I have.  I dont want to make 'un-essential' trips out at the moment so what I have is what I will be using.

We were supposed to use washi tape on our card this week but I dont have any as I dont use it.  I still think my card turned out just fine without using washi tape.

Here is this week's sketch:

And this is my interpretation of the sketch.  I think it turned out pretty well and is another card to add my ever growing stash - although I might send this one on to one of my facebook friends.

Thanks for looking and until next week - it's bye for now!

CRAZY 4 CHALLENGES - C4C527 - SKETCH WEEK

Hello Everyone!

Thanks for stopping by today!

This week over with the Crazy 4 Challenges team it's the third Saturday of the month meaning it's Sketch week.  Have to admit I am finding the sketches a little easier - must be practice makes perfect!

21st March - C4C527: Sketch Challenge

Here is this week's Sketch

Image may contain: possible text that says 'C4C527'

For this weeks sketch challenge I decided to incorporate the Magic Iris from Lawn Fawn into my card and I think I did pretty well in pulling it off.

I made this card for a friend's 60th. His party/get together was supposed to be today along with a joint 90th celebration for his mother but unfortunately it has been cancelled.  We all know why.

Yes, I did manage to get 60 candles onto this card and I am happy with how it came out.  It is tricky to photograph cards when you use silver mirror board - arrghh.

Here is my card - thank you for looking!

And here is a video of the card in action!

Until next week's challenge - it's bye for now!

CRAZY 4 CHALLENGES - C4C522 - SKETCH WEEK

Hi Everyone!

Thanks for stopping by.

This week over with the Crazy 4 Challenges design team it's the third Saturday of the month meaning it's Sketch week.

Here is this week's sketch:

Image may contain: possible text that says 'C4C522'

And as you all know by now, sketch week is not my favourite week on this design team but I am getting better with it.

Here is my card I created for this challenge and I am very happy with the way it turned out.  The champagne flute die I used was designed by Nicole Silhouette and is available in one of the stores she sells from on Ali Express but I cant remember the store at this time.  If I find it, I will link it here.

I enjoyed playing with my alcohol inks to create backgrounds for the diamond shapes and I used an embossing folder that came with a craft magazine to create the bubbles background and I added some clear waterdrop like gems around the card which are hard to see in the photo but look pretty in real life.  I used silver mirror board for the champagne flutes and the accents on this card - again, another thing that is hard to photograph!

This card could be used for any 'celebration' occasion like a wedding, anniversary or milestone birthday - another one for my stash! That's it from me for this week - until next week - bye for now!

CRAZY 4 CHALLENGES - C4C518 - SKETCH WEEK

Hi Everyone!

Thanks for stopping by today.

This week over with the Crazy 4 Challenges team it's the third Saturday of the month which means it's Sketch Week!

Here is this week's sketch:

Image may contain: possible text that says 'C4C518'

Here is my interpretation of this sketch.  I used some papers from Kaisercraft's 'Ladylike' 6' paper pad and the flower die I used is also from Kaisercraft.  The Just Because stamp is from Altenew's 'Just Because' builder stamp set.
Again, as you know sketches are not my favourite week on the Crazy 4 Challenges design team.  They really push me out of my comfort zone, but I am hoping to push through that this year and I am pleased with how this card came out!

Thank you for looking and until next time - it's bye for now!

CRAZY 4 CHALLENGES - C4C515 - THE FINAL WEEK 2019 - FAVOURITE SKETCH

Hi Everyone!

Thanks for stopping by!

So this week is the final week for the Crazy 4 Challenges team it's the last week for 2019. The theme is:

14th December - C4C515: Sketch Challenge - use your favorite C4C sketch for the challenge this week.

So my favourite sketch was actually none of them - hahaha!  As I have said before, I dont really enjoy sketch week.  But, having to pick a sketch I decided to use the sketch from C4C475.

I used papers and ephemera from Kaisercraft's 'Ladylike' collection and I love the way this card came out - so pretty!

So, that is a wrap for the Crazy 4 Challenges Design team for 2019 and I would like to say a huge thank you to Frances for having me on the team this year.  Initially, I wasnt going to continue on in 2020 but then I decided I would miss doing the challenges every week so I let her know that I will stay on board and I look forward to doing this all again in 2020!!!
So until next time it's bye for now!

CRAZY 4 CHALLENGES - C4C511 - SKETCH WEEK

Hello Everyone!

Thanks for stopping by today!

I am a day late for my Crazy 4 Challenges post but better late than never!

This week over with the Crazy 4 Challenges team it's the third week of the month meaning it's Sketch week.  Nicky, our hostess has come up with this sketch this week:

Image may contain: text that says "C4C511 Sentiment"

For my card this week I was actually inspired by our lovely hostess Nicky and the card she did for this week's challenge.  I loved the way her card had the see through aspect and I wanted to do something similar.

I used papers and ephemera from Kaisercraft's "Under the Gum Leaves" collection which is Aussie Christmas themed which I love.  The scene inside the card is from the 'Open Road' collection and it fit in well with what I was doing on this card and it makes a lovely peek through behind the cockatoo with his gift. I used acetate for the window part.

This card does hold some significance with the Cockatoo on it as my hubby's nickname to his mates is 'Cocky' and he is a very Australian type of guy with a love for all things 'Aussie' so this card is in honour of him.

I love the way this came out - a very Aussie Xmas Card - dont you think?

Here are pics of my card :

Thanks for looking - until next week - it's bye for now!

CRAZY 4 CHALLENGES - C4C507 - SKETCH WEEK

Hi Everyone!

Thanks for stopping by today!

This week over with the Crazy 4 Challenges team it is sketch week and as you all know the sketches are what I have the most trouble with - I know I go on and on about that each time it is sketch week but it's probably my least favourite week with the design team. And I had to come up with a sketch which is something I have never done before.  So I called on Frances for some help and this is the sketch we came up with for this week's sketch challenge.

No photo description available.

And here is my card I did for the sketch challenge - I used papers from Kaisercraft's 'Everlasting' collection and my new stamp set from Altenew - 'Just Because'.  I love all the different looking 'Just Because' stamps and you could mix them up in all different ways.

Thanks for looking and until next week for my final week as challenge hostess - it is bye for now!

CRAZY 4 CHALLENGES - C4C 488 - SKETCH WEEK

Hi Everyone!

Thanks for stopping by!

This week with the Crazy 4 Challenges team it is the third Saturday of the month meaning it is Sketch Week!

This week's sketch is:

No photo description available.

I have to be honest and admit that I dont really like sketch week - I know I have said it before but it still is very much a bug bear for me.  I dont know why I dont like sketches but I just cant get my head around them - I'm weird, I know - LOL!

Any way I did my best with this one and I think I am happy with how this card came out.

I used cream card stock and some decorater paper from Kaisercraft.  The 'hugs' die is from Kaisercraft as well.

The scallop edge die and the oval dies are from my stash.

I hope you like my interpretation of this week's sketch challenge.

Thanks again for stopping by! Bye for now until next time - be crafty!

CRAZY 4 CHALLENGES - C4C484 - SKETCH WEEK

Hello Everyone

Thanks for stopping by today!

This week over at Crazy 4 Challenges it is sketch week and this week's sketch looks like this:

No photo description available.

I did struggle with this sketch - no surprises there but I did have a look at what the other design team members that had already posted their pics and that was a huge help.

I had a left over background in my stash where I used the flower turnabout stamp from Concord & 9th that I was not really happy with but it was perfect for this card.

Purple is my favourite colour and whenever I get stuck on something I usually turn to purple as it seems to help me get out of a rut.

I am pretty happy with how this card turned out as it is not really a card layout that I would normally turn to but I think that is why we have them on the challenges so we are challenged a little bit creatively.

Here is the card and thank you for looking!

Have fun crafty friends until next time!
bye for now!

CRAZY 4 CHALLENGES - C48C480 - SKETCH WEEK

Hello Everyone!

Welcome back to my blog!

This week over with the Crazy 4 Challenges team it's the third Saturday of the month and

Being the third Saturday of the month it is time for a Sketch Challenge. Hope you have fun playing with this sketch.

No photo description available.

I liked the look of this sketch and it wasn't a problem for me this time putting a card together following the sketch.

I am a recent follower of Nicole van Kalsbeek - Verkooijen on youtube.  She designs dies in the Netherlands and I do like her designs.  She does some different things to what is already on the market and that is what I like about her.  And she is a lovely lady too.

Anyway, she had a competition on her channel a couple of weeks ago and I was one of the lucky winners to receive a prize which was one of her die sets.  I was so pleased to have won.  The die set I received is not something I would normally buy but I wanted to use it and this sketch came to mind.  The flowers I used were from another die set I have from Tonic Studios.
The green spotty paper I used is from Kaisercraft's small 6x6 paper pad 'The Greenhouse Collection'.
For the stamped sentiment I used 'Hello Gorgeous' from Uniquely Creative and is available here

Nicole also sent me a lovely card with my prize which was lovely to receive.

I only used the doily die and the girl silhouette from the die set on my card for this sketch although the stars and crown will come in handy one day I am sure.

I used silver mirror card stock on this card as well and I love the way it came out.  I think this card would be perfect for a teenage girl's birthday and my teenage daughter Melissa has been eyeing this card off and I am assuming she is going to take it to give to one of her friends for their birthday - lol.

Here is my card for this sketch - thanks for looking and see you next week!

Bye for now!

CRAZY FOR CHALLENGES C4C475 - SKETCH WEEK

Hi Guys!

Thanks for stopping by my blog.

This week over with the Crazy 4 Challenges team it's the third Saturday of the month and

Being the third Saturday of the month it is time for a Sketch Challenge. Hope you have fun playing with this sketch.

I found the sketch this month a little easier to get my head around and I decided to use Altenew's Nature's Snippets layering stamp set for this card.  I also used a new die I recently purchased from a local craft store and it is by Couture Creations called 'Winter Branches' and I think that it matched in with the Nature's Snippets die just perfectly.

The cardstock I used was a pewter looking pearlescent card I had in my stash but in the photo it looks silver. It matched in well with the Altenew inkpads I used to stamp the bird on the branch layering stamp which was Evening Grey and Morning Frost.

I was thinking along the lines that this card would make a good sympathy card with the sentiment that I chose but could be for anyone going through a hard time if you wanted to let them know you were there for them.

Here are some pics of the card and I am sure you will agree the close up one looks the better out of the three taken.

No video for this card this week guys - see you next week - bye for now.

CRAZY FOR CHALLENGES C4C471 - IT'S SKETCH WEEK

Hi Guys!

Thanks for stopping by!

This week over with the Crazy 4 Challenges team it's sketch week and this week it's this sketch layout:

Sketch Week but with a twist.  Your card can follow the sketch as is or you can make it as a tent fold or you can flip the rectangles and 3 elements to the opposite sides as in the sketch!

I have to admit that I really struggle sometimes with the sketches and this is only my second one!  I think it is because I over think the layout. I hope to get better with that in the coming months.
I did go a little bit 'rogue' with this sketch layout so I do apologise to Frances and also to our lovely hostess Kathleen.  I did veer from the layout slightly but I hope you both can forgive me?

I am very happy with how the card turned out using Concord & 9th's 'Crafty Turnabout' stamp and die set. Aren't those little scissors the cutest things you ever did see?

Here is my card for this week's sketch - I hope you like it:

Until next time guys it's 'bye' from me for now!

CRAZY 4 CHALLENGES C4C467 - IT'S SKETCH WEEK

Hi Guys!

Thanks for stopping by!

This week over at Crazy 4 Challenges it's the third Saturday of the month so it's Sketch Week.  I have never made a card using a sketch before and this was a fun challenge for me.  I even used papers and colours that I wouldnt normally use to really push myself.

I am pretty happy with how this turned out.  I used paper that was in my stash and the 'smile' die is from Essentials By Ellen and is the cursive script from the letterboard set.  The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp Tiny words set.

I didn't do a video for this card this week.

I hope you like the card.

Have a great week and bye for now!
